"Finding the Christ in Ourselves"
This quote is from the "Finding the Christ in Ourselves" chapter by Dr. Emilie Cady (1844-1948), who partnered with Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, in the foundation of the Unity School of Christianity. This excerpt is from "Voices of the Angels" (See side bar). She was a pioneer in the New Thought Movement at the turn of the century.
“By thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” The moment we begin to criticize or condemn another, we prove ourselves guilty of the same fault to which we are giving cognizance.

STILLNESS AND RECEPTIVITY
I am still and receptive to Life.
I let Life flow through me into all
that I do, say or think.
I shall let my Life be what it is,
and shall not worry nor complain.
I am now entered into the Secret Place of the Soul
where complete quiet
reigns supreme and
where God talks to me.
I receive.

The Vision Board
"Open & Allowing" is the focus of the next VISION BOARD workshop on Saturday, August 11, from 2-4pm at the Center for Spiritual Living in Santa Rosa . Love Yourself, Live Life Fully!
Creating mental images builds inroads into your subconscious. It is something that you can do to help you in the art of manifestation. Oprah Winfrey revealed that she has created one with the intention that Obama not only become president but that she would go to the inaugural ball wearing the dress that appeared on her board. A plethora of high quality images will be available as we tune into our inner guidance leading us to those images that will inform our awareness about our higher purpose. Creating a VISION BOARD in this way brings into visual form a healing, nurturing collage of pictures and words that will lead you to your good. We will be given guidelines for dialoging with our VISION BOARD. This dialogue process aligns our consciousness with the All Knowing, One Consciousness that is active within us, guiding us, leading us. Folks can register for this workshop at the Center 707-546-4543. Fee is $25 and a materials donation of $5-$10 is collected at the door. Register now as these workshops do fill up quickly. See you there.

For You My Friend

From Peter Stickney, Licensed Prayer Practitioner at Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa
For you my friend:
Finding peace within now that the busy day is done, I relax.
Breathing easily and naturally I take in air and let out air.
Feeling the earth beneath me, supporting me always.
Feeling my head reaching up to the sky, as I relax.
In this moment all is well. I am here, relaxing into now.
I turn my attention inward, looking for a place of peace.
I notice the steady beating of my heart and pause,
Feeling this steady rhythm moving my life blood,
My attention turns to the intelligence creating me.
Going deeper within to find the source of life,
The source of all there is,
I relax into the center
Of my being here now watching the drama unfold
Universally in through and around me.
Where is The creator of all this?
In me and around me
Creation is constant, all through the universe.
I am being created anew every moment and
I am an active participant in this creation.
I accept my thoughts, words and actions are creative.
Carefully choosing my thoughts and how I use them
In words and sentences,
I joyfully claim the following
Are true in my life now.
I am a beautiful child of the earth.
I am grateful for all I have and I share myself generously.
I listen to my intuition and follow my inner guidance easily.
There are avenues of success in financial affairs open to me,
That are calling to me and I am moving toward them now.
There is always a way through all apparent obstacles,
As I continue moving forward with confidence and faith.
I am never alone, I surround myself with my community.
I expand easily into the opportunities opening to me.
I consistently relax, let go, surrender, listen, and follow
My intuition faithfully as I move into my highest good.
Deep in my heart I affirm all is well in truth.
I am very grateful for the safety and security I feel now.
I breathe in and I breathe out; my heart beats regularly.
I am a divine child of the most high and all good is mine.
I release this word into law and love, accepting my good now.
So, I let it be. And so it is.
Blessed Be

In 1911: 100 years ago
Here are some statistics for the Year 1911: The average life expectancy for men was 47 years. Women were the property of men without voting rights, property rights, or child custody rights. Fuel for cars was sold in drug stores only. Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub. Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone. There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph. The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower ! The average US wage in 1910 was 22 cents per hour. The average US worker made between $200 and $400 per year. A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year, a dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year. More than 95 percent of all births took place at home. Ninety percent of all Doctors had NO COLLEGE EDUCATION! Instead, they attended so-called medical schools, many of which were condemned in the press and the government as "substandard". Sugar cost four cents a pound. Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen. Coffee was fifteen cents a pound. Most women only washed their hair once a month, and used Borax or egg yolks for shampoo. Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from entering into their country for any reason. The Five leading causes of death were: 1. Pneumonia and influenza 2. Tuberculosis 3. Diarrhea 4. Heart disease 5. Stroke The American flag had 45 stars. The population of Las Vegas , Nevada was only 30. Crossword puzzles, canned beer, and iced tea hadn't been invented yet. There was neither a Mother's Day nor a Father's Day. Two out of every 10 adults couldn't read or write and only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school. Marijuana, heroin, and morphine were all available over the counter at the local corner drugstores. Back then pharmacists said, "Heroin clears the complexion, gives buoyancy to the mind, regulates the stomach and bowels, and is, in fact, a perfect guardian of health!" (Shocking?) Eighteen percent of households had at least one full-time servant or domestic help. There were about 230 reported murders in the ENTIRE U.S.A. ! I am now going to forward this to someone else without typing it myself. From there, it will be sent to others all over the WORLD - all in a matter of seconds! Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.

Battle Hymn of the Women
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
They are waking, they are waking,
In the east, and in the west;
They are throwing wide their windows to the sun;
And they see the dawn is breaking,
And they quiver with unrest,
For they know their work is waiting to be done.
They are waking in the city,
They are waking on the farm;
They are waking in the boudoir, and the mill;
And their hearts are full of pity
As they sound the loud alarm,
For the sleepers, who in darkness, slumber, still.
In the guarded harem prison,
Where they smother under veils,
And all echoes of the world are walled away;
Though the sun has not yet risen,
Yet the ancient darkness pales,
And the sleepers, in their slumber, dream of day.
And their dream shall grow in splendour
Till each sleeper wakes, and stirs;
Till she breaks from old traditions, and is free;
And the world shall rise, and render
Unto woman what is hers,
As it welcomes in the race that is to be.
Unto woman, God the Maker
Gave the secret of His plan;
It is written out in cipher, on her soul;
From the darkness, you must take her,
To the light of day, O man!
Would you know the mighty meaning of the scroll.
